Official Records and Custody Contacts

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail at the Law Enforcement Center. Its published office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the office open through lunch. Use the jail line for time-sensitive custody questions and the county request process for copies of booking records or photographs.

Choose the route that matches the record or custody stage:

• For a recent arrest, active inmate, booking record, or photograph, begin with the Marion County booking search. The county’s public-information request form is the fallback when an image or older record is not displayed.
• For a focused county records request, contact Public Information Officer Emily Feagins at 641-205-3721 or efeagins@marioncountyiowa.gov. The office is at 3014 E. Main Street, Knoxville, with mail sent to 214 E. Main Street, Knoxville, IA 50138. Published hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; callers should verify lunch availability.
• For a court file or warrant-status process question, call the Marion County Clerk of Court at 641-828-2208. The clerk cannot provide legal advice.
• For lawful warrant-resolution information, use the Most Wanted Fugitives and warrant check, then contact the clerk, sheriff, or an attorney as appropriate.
• For a sentenced state prisoner or person under state corrections supervision, use the Iowa Department of Corrections offender search. It is not a same-day county jail roster.
• For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For civil immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
• For custody-status alerts, use Iowa VINE. It provides notifications, not booking photographs or the final court disposition.
